Hi Peoples! We are Mark and Clover, husband and wife, living in Manchester, at least for the next week or so.

We both have NIE numbers. Our house purchase in Alcaucin, Malaga is close to completion (we expect to make the final payment imminently). We intend to move to live in Spain as soon as we possibly can (this year?)

Any advice or help with the following, (or indeed with any practicalities) would be welcome. 

What is the quickest and easiest way for us to register on the Alcaucin Padron, to ensure we are on it before the end of December this year?

What is the quickest and easiest way to get our TIE application in?

We can probably fly out to Spain at short notice if necessary. 

I'm in the process of setting up our full health insurance policy. I have opened a Spanish joint bank account, which currently has about 5,000 Euros in it. Should I put more money in it now. to satisfy residence requirements?

We are aged 65 and 62 and both fully retired. We do have sufficient funds and pensions available to prove we can live comfortably in Spain without further income (except pension draw down)

Hi, I would be so grateful to get feedback on the local primary schools in Alcaucín. Our daughter is 8 and going now to a local mountain village c.e.i.p. ,Aigues, 20 minutes inland from Alicante. 

We Are looking for the same set up (30/60 min drive from a main city with intl airport) enjoying a village life in beautiful surroundings but we have to get the school right, that is in castellano as the main language.

Hi guys, i bought an apartment in Alcaucin earlier this year with the intention of letting the property out for holiday rentals.I have a tourist licence , but i have been told that i can not rent the property for holiday lets as it was voted against at an AGM long before i bought the property. Anyone heard of this before ? TIA Richard

We have leak somewhere but our pipes are hidden. We have a villa near Alcacui

Rather than knocking down walls we are trying to find a plumber with a leak detector.

I was told a plumber called Tony Barlow has one but I can’t find him anywhere on line.

Hi there we are due to holiday in Alcaucín on the 9th of August. We are concerned as we’ve hears the pools are still closed and we will have to wear masks outside. We would appreciate some information that will help us decide if we should still come. Tia

My partner and I have just moved to Alcaucin ( well actually we moved here the day the lockdown started!) Naturally we haven't had a chance to make any friends but now the restrictions are easing I'm looking forward to exploring the town and meeting my neighbours! 

We moved here from the UK, and although my partner is from Spain, I'm still learning the language and getting to grips with all the day to day changes (loving it so far!)

Hi we moved into the area recently but currently stuck in the UK  we have obtained our padron and changed our Spanish registered vehicle with traffico I was wondering when the vehicle tax is due and if I can tax online or through the town hall without the tax bill  thanks for any help
