With the new animal law that comes in at the end of September, I understand that everyone needs liability insurance for their dogs. I've got 2 terrier type pets (10kg each), and La Caixa say that it's not included in my house insurance, and have quoted 65 euros each per year. I wondered if anyone else has looked into this, or has more information about it....
I didn't know anything about it but I am following this post now too. We haven’t moved to Spain yet because our house in the UK is still on the market. We do hope to come over for a few months in the winter though, we have two dogs, do they have to have that insurance if you are not a resident yet? Thank you in advance.

I would imagine so. If they attack anyone in Spain then Spanish insurance would be needed. Abbeygate in Casares can do stuff online and they quote (starting) 35 euros per year. I use them for my home and car insurance at the moment and they seem really good.
