Hi guys, i bought an apartment in Alcaucin earlier this year with the intention of letting the property out for holiday rentals.I have a tourist licence , but i have been told that i can not rent the property for holiday lets as it was voted against at an AGM long before i bought the property. Anyone heard of this before ? TIA Richard

Hi Richard ,

yes I’ve heard of this before in other developments . Obviously to stop a constant stream of tenants in and out . Just recently owners on my development in Casares have voted higher communal fees for people who rent to deter them . Maybe your solicitor should of found out this information before you bought ?

Sorry for you. This must have been quite a shock and you should have some recourse with your Sales Agent/Lawyer!

Actually, I wish on our community they would do the same thing. From the perspective of a person who lives in a community (and has made it home) having these rentals is very unsettling.
