Just look at what is required from a Canadian or Australian.  There will be no special considerations for anyone from the UK.  It sounds interesting though if you start the process before then you do get an extension.

If you search online for details on what is required if you are Canadian that will tell you what you will need to do if the deadline passes and no special allowances are made.  Its not easy, I can tell you that for sure.
