I live near Priego de Cordoba,  and have been trying to adopt a dog...Mastin, collie, or labrador , unsuccessfully since February.  Of course Covid 19 impeded such too.The Costa del Sol and Coin perreras...rescue centres do not allow adoption outside of the province  My cortijo has a large garden, big courtyard, and plenty of local walking trails.  Any suggestions? Thank you.

How sad that you want to adopt a dog in a country with 1,000s and 1,000s of dogs that need a loving home and you cannot find someone to help you!!

I do not know your location and I am sure you have searched online and talked to everyone you can.  So I just wish you luck to find that doggie that is desperate for a new home soon.

Thanks Kerri

Prego is an hours drive northeast of Antequera. I've looked at and contacted  every rescue centre from the Costas, to Coin, to Seville to Cordoba. It appears families are preferred to individuals as adopters in some cases. One rescue centre in Seville, even stated I was not a suitable candidate, because I am not currently working due to Covid. Ironically, I deemed this to be positive for a pet. Lots of walks and constant attention. Big areas to play.

If anyone knows of a dog who could be rehomed with me, do let me know. Thank you.

There is an animal charity in Antequera called Arca del Torcal, phone +34 637 17 60 58. Try them and see if they have any. They are generally always looking for families to adopt their animals. There's also Triple A in Ojen. Last time I was there a couple of years ago, they had about 300 dogs waiting to be rehomed.

Thanks Linnie

I sent off an adoption enquiry and personal information form to Last Chance last Saturday. Automated reply email stated that if they hadn't got back to me within a week, then either adoption was not possible or Covid issues. Havnt received a response,  shame there are 3 gorgeous dogs on the site. Thanks for your help. Regards Beulah

Contacted Adana today. Weekend closure meant before was not possible.  There is a dog called Eve, in the pound for 8 years. They do allow adoption from one province to another. Thanks for your help. Regards. Beulah
