Good afternoon all.

I am a newbie to the the site in need of some help. Myself and my wife have had an offer accepted on a property in beautiful Velez. We both retire in the next few years and plan on a permanent move and can't wait. Although learning, my Spanish is pretty poor, the other half is much better. Anyway.......

I am in need of a layer a bit quick. Does anyone have any very good experiences with local lawyers they could recommend to purchase a property. Due to our current level of Spanish language we are hoping to find English speaking. we have seen one on line that looks very professional but would much rather real life experiences.

We would also like to get a survey done on the property, is this something a lawyer could arrange for us.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Carl.

Hi

Google,  C&P group in Benalmadena.

Christopher is a great guy and knows Velez very well, and can sort anything from property, tax, home insurance to get you on your way. His brother's office is in Nerja which ever you prefer. The easiest way his give power of eterny then just go and pick your keys up, which save a lot of time and money. Speaks English and Spanish fluent.

Hi Carl, good luck with your property purchase. We used Carmen at CS Lawyers to buy our property in Algarrobo & also arrange our Spanish wills. As with Rick recommendation, easist way is for you to give Power of Attorney, then Carmen will sort everything

English speaking as are her staff, offices in Torre & Torrox. Recommended

Carmen also arranged our pre purchase survey

One word of advice, best to only make an offer with a lawyer already in place, unlike UK not a fixed fee and normal charge about 1% of the sale price. Often best based in the location you are buying and familiar with the local market, property a risky market in Spain that has several million empty homes. LInk Lawyer in the area, https://tejadasolicitors.com/english-lawyers-malaga/solicitor-velez-malaga/

Agents can be very pushy, double check your offer is a good one, you can see most properties for sale on Idealista. which are like Right Move UK. (Most properties way overpriced, often makes sense to make a silly offer and work up)
