We are UK citizens who immigrated in mid-September under NLV visas. The condition was we must apply for a TIE within 30 days of arrival.

We completed our Padron application a few days ago. However Velez-Malaga says it takes two months for the certificate to be issued. Without the Padron  - no TIE!...

Hi ,

Perhaps a chat with Decipher Spain ( Jessica Baker ) you can book a, call online she is assisting us at present ( without her we would be lost )

Hope this helps

Google should give you details

Hi Bill,

Try CAB Spain.

They have lots of information on their website.

Make a small donation and you will have your question answered by a very experienced person.

Hi Chris - thanks for the suggestion! I already donate to Age in Spain who have a similar knowledge base and expert volunteers.

I'll try CAB Spain - this can't be the first time this has happened...

To be frank I don't think you will not get very far without a Gestor or agent Spain, is built that way. (Like a closed shop to protect an industry)  They also have the Gov portals that deal with this stuff, one popular Brit agent  Upticks https://upsticks.es/spanish-residency/

Thanks for this advice - quickly discovering there's the official way and the way that works best. Off to talk to an old Danish friend who's lived here for 30+ years

You should have an application receipt from town hall so use this (resguardo) so at least paperwork is sent within the 30 day time frame.

Through Age in Spain I got a copy of Velez-Malaga council terms and conditions   Very revealing as it says a digital certificate should be issued on demand. Off to the local office to show this!

They are two different things though. I thought you needed the padrón and not certificado digital.

I do need the patron certificate ASAP but the urgent issue is to show the Police that it’s being worked on so they can process my TIE which I must apply for by next week
