I have British passport and my wife has an Irish passport. I understand that family members of Union citizens who wish to remain in Spain beyond 90 days, once in Spain, must submit an application with the competent authorities for a residence card as Union citizen family member.

Can I apply of a residence card as Union citizen family member, in Spain, as my wife has an Irish passport?

And does she have to be a Spanish resident for me to do so? What is the registration certificate of the EU citizen? Can registering on the Padrón’ or Municipal Register and or having a NIE number count for my wife as registered?

Thank you

"Can registering on the Padrón’ or Municipal Register and or having a NIE number count for my wife as registered?"

Brits married to EU citizens are not bound by 90/180 day rule and can live in Spain, before Brexit most Brits kept their tax affair in their home country as we still had FOM. Tax here is horrendous, with over 65; liable for social security on income on private pension, SS about 39% plus a  basic rate of about 30% that's 70%,  Civils servants have a special deal to still pay Tax in UK..

UK is like a tax haven compared to UK.
