An update on my application for residency!

I have been refused as I didn’t have medical insurance in 2020?!

Can anyone advise where I can go from here.

1st. of all thanks for accepting me in this Estepona forum.

I have been to Estepona on numerous occasions in the past and  totally fell in love with the place, Sadly last year I booked a short 9 day break only for it to be cancelled due to this horrible virus that occurred in 2020, luckily the apartment that I booked where very understanding and offered me 9 days commencing 11th. June 2021. please could you keep me in touch with a update on circumstances involving the latest news from Estepona. Once again I am over the moon with joining this forum and hopefully my holiday goes ahead this year and maybe catch up with some of your readers, stay safe and take care love to hear from you soon Thanks,

Hello, 

I need to get a Health Card to be in the system to be offered a vaccine.

I have Residencia, NIE, Social Security Number as pay tax in Spain etc.....so eligible.

I understand that you can get via the Social Security Office or The Local Health Centre.

I tried to the Social Security office on Avenue Andalucia today (March 5) but closed and can only get appointments electronically.......I think...my Spanish I am afraid not quite up to it. However, the security guard (so not sure how qualified he is to give this advice) said I would have to get a health card via the health service. 

So, the 2 centres in Estepona I can find online are located:

1. Servicio Andaluz de Salud - Calle Miguel de María Luque, 2, 29680 Estepona, Málaga

2. Health Centre Estepona - Calle Cristóbal Ruiz Méndez, 19, 29680 Estepona, Málaga

Is this correct? And also which is the better one to go to. (I walked past the Centre on Calle Cristóbal Ruiz Méndez with a long que and only 1 person on reception.)

Would the centre on Calle Miguel be better? 

Anyone have experience of getting a health card and any advice gratefully received.

Any advice would be appreciated 

I came to estapona in October 2020.  I have a rental income in the UK   Registered on the padron and have health insurance both February 2021.  

The gestoria submitted credit card statement showing I was spending money in October here.  Contract for apartment dated 1st November but immigration are requesting proof I was here in 2020?

Any advice would be appreciated it was an expensive exercise to get out here and tied in to a contract etc.

Can anyone tell me how foreigners / expats in Estepona will be informed when they will be invited for a Covid vaccine.

Would it be via the public healthcare system through your public healthcare card - or - by the local town hall / Padron?

If it is via the public healthcare system. Can anyone outline the process involved in obtaining a healthcard in Estepona?

I have residencia / TIE, social security number, Empadronamiento and pay tax here.

We have lived in Spain for 2 years and I am Autonimo, we have all our papers in order TIE, drivers license etc.. but we have been under health insurance since we got here and I have a few regular medical prescriptions that work out to be rather expensive. I have been told by the Pharmacia that I can register with the local health authority as I am paying my tax etc.. but not sure how to go about this, can anybody let me know the procedure.
