Hi there - we live in Estepoba and really love it here.  It’s got everything you mighty need with great road and bus links to other places.  It has all the shops, facilities you might need and is also fully open during the winter months.  A social group ACE is just up the road and they do lots of social events.  Just Google ACE Estepona.  Most importantly please rent here for three months to see whether it suits you or not.  Let us know when you are coming and we can meet for a coffee and chat.  Alan

The first question that pops into my head is "why do you want to move to Estepona at 62 if you feel nervous?".

There is a FB group called 'Ladies of Spain'.  They meet regularly for coffee and many other activities.   You might want to join up and see what goes on.  It will give you a better idea of how to meet people based on what you like to do.  Lots of members are living in the UK and come for holidays and of course many also live here.

Good luck.  Kerri

Hi Helen

I moved to Estepona 9 years ago after living in the sub-continent and the Far East for many years. Estepona is the loveliest place I have ever lived. My wife and I walk the coastal path almost every day. and even today, in the light rain, would not live anywhere else. Estepona is the town of flowers, low-rise buildings, stupendeous  murals and elegance. You will not regret moving here - make contact where you are here

Dear Helen and Kerri

Firstly I would ask Kerri to clarify why she might think it odd that Helen would feel nervous?  Of course Helen would feel nervous - anybody moving to a new place / new country / new environment on their own is bound to feel nervous- that is normal and totally understandable.
Kerri perhaps instead of making Helen question her ambition you might pass on the details of “The Ladies Who Lunch” that might be more helpful to someone who has asked for details of social gatherings etc.  Helen as I said try it out for a few months and please contact us for a coffee / chat when you come over. I’m sure others will join us.  Alan x

Hi Alan.

Thankyou  for pointing  out why I'm feeling  apprehensive.  Also leaving family, will be hard. Before my husband  passed away it was always  something  we had discussed  doing in retirement.  Sadly I now wonder if I still have it in me to start over in a new country.  Being lonely  is the over riding concern. Thanks Alan.
