The family have collectively decided on the dream property in Estepona. Now to the next stage…can anyone recommend a reputable lawyer in the area to see this through?

Ask for Javier Chacon. Excellent English and competent lawyer. Resolved several issues for us and continues to be our lawyer.

I am sure the recommendation lawyer good, but you need very good advice, have you really achieved the best price, normally about 10% than ask price, if a few year old check obligational 'building certificate'. Check al comparable deals https://www.idealista.com/en/geo/venta-viviendas/costa-del-sol/
Don't pay over the odds take 'little notice agents' big money here 5% commission here compared to UK about 1%. Follow your own nose, don't be scared to knock down the price further, stuck when paid 10% deposit, you cannot pull out, be carful, much to be lost, . . .

We used Michael Davies in Marbella when buying our home in Manilva.
He is Spanish with perfect English. We gave him power of attorney to buy our property, so we didn’t have to keep coming out to sign paperwork.
Communication is excellent and his staff all speak English.

Try this Diana Zurring they were amazing very professional efficient
Nothing too much for them very good communication in English based in Marbella near the bull ring

We also bought through Crystal Shore based in Estepona the lady Jackie was fantastic she is Croatian but married to and English guy and her attention to detail is the best
We offered10k below asking and was accepted
be careful though as all the solicitors withold the Cadastral value of your house and it causes issues with paying the non resident tax
be sure to ask whoever you use for this page when picking up the deeds

Really good information, thanks.
I have to return to my home country & sell my house. I would like to ask if anyone in this forum community can help me with 2 questions?
1. Will l have to continue paying Patronato tax once l leave Spain? It could take time for my house to sell.
2. Our house insurance with Sabadell is extremely expensive l need to find cheaper one to cover the house until it is sold. Any advice woul be greatly appreciated.
