Hello Members,

Due to our lawyers mistake, my husbands driving license application was not presented in time. He has until the end of the month before his UK driving license is no longer legal. He now has to do the test....

Does anyone have a copy of the The Spanish Driving Theory book in English by any chance? Or know where to buy one? I have found them online, but they seem tied in with driving school packages that cost a fortune....

Thanks in advance, Ruth

Official DGT Test in English:https://www.driving-school-barcelona.com/dgt-test-in-english/

This above link might be useful Ruth, the licence deal a pain, people still hope UK & Spain will do a deal.

Note drivers from Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Dominical Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Macedonia, Morocco, Nicaragua, Peru, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Serbia, Turkey, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uruguay, and Venezuela can exchange their licences for Spanish ones within their first six months of residency. All other EU citizens can drive for two year if resident, but not British, only tourists. This is a big minus for anyone thinking of buying a home in Spain.

Hello! Thank you for the info. I didn't know you could do the theory part of the test separately, and then follow up with the practical part later with the help of a local school. That should make it a bit more affordable.

If anyone has a spare book then please let me know as husband is not great with computers. I can help him with the pc side of things but he wants a book.

Thanks again, Ruth

Link here on Amazon ES my previous link has an actual theory test in English & Test questions, but just a sample I think.

https://www.amazon.es/Learn-To-Drive/dp/8496105032?tag=cstareg0f-21

'Your theory test will ask you 30 multiple choice questions from a pool of 3,000 potential questions, and you’ll need to answer 90 percent of them correctly to pass. When it comes to your practical test, however, you’ll have no choice but to take it in Spanish. If you don’t speak Spanish then you are advised to either take lessons or practice the words and phrases you’ll need during your test so that you can pass your test and drive in Spain, beware that the English translations used in the tests can often be a little confusing,  Link

(In my case have just up driving until they sort out some deal) .

Why can't he apply for the UK to Spanish driving licence exchange?

'Holders of a current UK licence (that has not expired) are now able to exchange their UK licence for a Spanish one without having to take a Spanish driving test. And, for six months, UK licence holders can legally drive again on their valid UK licence whilst they complete the exchange process.
