Temporary Spanish driving licence - not accepted outside Spain?
To comply with my residence conditions in Spain I recently surrendered my UK licence and was issued with a temporary Spanish licence by DGT. According to DGT I should allow up to 2 months for issue of the licence card.
No problem about the validity of the temporary licence in Spain for eg. car hire. However I plan to holiday in Croatia from 14 April and the local car hire company will only accept the licence card. It is impossible to guarantee I will receive that prior to my departure. DGT advised this is outside their control. The cards are produced at FNMT and they require a batch of applications before running my and others' licence card.
Has anybody come across this problem beforehand? Any ideas how to overcome the Croatian problem.
Many thanks
