Hi,

I used Chris at upsticks.es. A good guy, blunt and tells it how it is. Worth contacting. Others here have also used him.

Michael

Hi

Using Upsticks at the moment.  Charges just over £500. Awaiting Consulate to get back to me about Visa status!

Hi

Not entirely sure.  Chris at Upsticks is very good and very easy to talk to.  You could always email him and ask him. You pay a deposit first and the balance at the end when the Visa has been finalised.  I have only applied for myself!

Further to our private exchange, have you asked Chris for help, he answers emails within hours or you can phone him.

Hi

Yes he has been in touch with the Consulate and waiting for a reply for me.  That was 2 weeks ago.

Hi Denise,

Did you get any good news yet?

We got our visas back and flew out on the 5th Feb and its been a roller coaster since. We moved back in to the house on the 9th. TIE in hand, although we had a big issue at the police station. They completed Sallys entry incorrectly, attributing her to transgender status! Then the whole situation got worse. They could not correct it and had to have a debate with Madrid to cancel the original and then we have to go back for Sally to reapply for her TIE.

I have to say that we were so fortunate to have Upsticks on our side. Their man Tom spotted the error before Sally left the chair in front of the clerk. He and Chris worked with the Police Station over the next 24hrs behind the scenes and obtained a repeat visit for a new TIE. Without them we would be in the biggest pile of grief. So if anyone asked me, Upsticks are the real thing.

Michael

Hi Michael

Its obviously been a roller coaster for both of you.  I'm glad Chris from Upsticks has been around to sort it out for you.   Yes, Chris is a great guy.  I actually met him at the National Exhibition Centre last year  in Birmingham but had been in contact with him at least six months before.   As for the "VISA" I havn't heard a thing!!!  Its so frustrating.  I was told I would hear within 4 - 6 weeks (it will be 8 weeks tomorrow)

Can't do anything, can't plan anything.  I also have a small dog I will be bringing with me and that's been a nightmare trying to sort him.

It's my birthday on Friday may be I might here something then.  I am constantly looking at my emails and nothing.  I can honestly say its been a roller coaster.  I tried to do this 18 months ago but after speaking to an immigration lawyer in Spain he said I wouldn't qualify.   After Brexit I don't think anybody knew what was actually required.  I had sold my house  the UK and then took it back off the market.

After speaking to "My Lawyer " in Spain (a company I spoke to at the NEC) they advised that the information I had been given was incorrect and I did qualify.  So I decided to sell my house in June last year and exchanged contracts a few months later.

I'm already to go.  Some of my belongings are in storage and i am living temporary with my niece and her partner.

Its hard work when you are trying to do this by yourself.

Hopefully, I will hear something soon!  I will let you know.

Regards

Denise

Hi Denise,

What I did in the end was write a letter to the Head of Consulate Services and send it by Special Delivery mail. The next day after they received it my passports were in the post! The critical thing was that my NLV had been approved and was visible on the Madrid immigration web site, not the consulate one. If you don't know how to check this ask Chris to do it for you.

This is what I sent
