My husband and I plan on coming to view properties in Costa del sol area this winter.  Most importantly is access to constant fresh water .  is there natural springs inland also views of water, not necessarily sea views, plus dog friendly.

We have done the coast as far as Puerto Duquesne.  Any info 're the above would be grateful to start us off looking.  Intention is to stay 5 months and then possibly buy.  It would be good if area has a working town so some ex pats are there also while carrying on learning my Spanish.

Hi

When you say "access to constant fresh water" is this for drinking or for swimming in? I'm not sure. Based on that I am not completely sure I would suggest looking around Benahavis or Istan.

Benhavis has some lovely fresh water pools and streams that are good for walking and dogs etc and Istan has the reservoir....

If we're just talking about drinking water, we also have taps :) Just kidding.

Good luck with the search!

Cheers for the help how far is benahavis or istan from coast.  I'm hoping access to spring waters for drinking and fresh water lakes for swimming.  Do you as locals put anything in water from taps to make it palatable or can you buy filters for jugs.

Sorry to be a pain but looking to access drinking water as good as scotland. Do most ex pats just buy the large bottles of water.

The water whilst maybe not Scottish spring water is perfectly drinkable direct from the tap. I tend to keep a bottle in the fridge so that it's icy but its drinkable for sure and most people do drink it. Some of course will only drink bottled water but personally I think they have more money than sense.

Benhavis is behind Estepona/San Pedro, maybe a ten minute drive. Istan is sort of a similar distance but a slightly longer drive purely as its a very windy road behind Marbella/Nueva Andalusia....they are both "almost" coastal in that they are between the coast and the mountains behind. Google them and you will easily find them.

Thank you so much and will certainly do more research
