Hi

Im in the process of buying my home in Spain. Has anyone who has done this used Excel Currencies to exchange to euros?

Does anyone have any feedback, positive or negative based on experience?

I have been recommended to use Currencies Direct, however having made contact with Excel Currencies, they claim to be able to give me a better rate of exchange.

All comments welcome especially if they are based on experience.

Thanks in advance

L

The best choice is WISE https://wise.com/

I have found Currencies Direct to be excellent. If you access them online you can see the exchange rate instantly, to compare with other offerings

Wise is good still depends on amount I did it through the banks to be on the safe side as I hear horrid stories with some of these companies.

Wise is very safe

We have just used wise to exchange and transfer £200k to Spain to buy a property. Their app is user friendly and rates/fees excellent. My friends husband works in foreign exchange for an international bank and gave them the thumbs up. I also spoke to someone from Moneycorp who admitted to me that they can’t compete with Wise.

Worth transferring the money in smaller amounts over time if you can and watching the rate. A few months ago we got 1.18 but dropped.off a bit now.

Thanks to everyone who commented. I ended up transferring using revolut as that was the best rate I could get.

Good call! They are much better than Wise, and I do have both.
