Hi, very confused as to what is termed a dependent for salary requirements for non-lucrative visa criteria. Is my wife a dependent therefore does the extra 500 plus Euros need to be added to income. Help appreciated.

The financial limits, based on Spain’s public index figures, are a minimum of €27,115.20 in a bank account or a minimum monthly income of €2,259.60. 'Each additional family member will require evidence of a further €6,778.80 in the bank or €564.90 per month by way of income'

Steve, but I wouldn't be earning a wage or paying local taxes, your not allowed to under the non-lucrative visa rules, we'd be living off my Army pension.

You would be paying taxes as a resident, income from UK will be taxed in Spain, they do have a dual taxation agreement, which just means any tax detucted UK can be credited, taxes are higher in Spain & Tax free allowance in very low. Income means any earnings be it pension or anything else. Non-Lucrative just mean you will not work in Spain.

That's the thing as I have a government pension I wouldn't pay tax on it in Spain but in the UK. I suppose 4 years away things may have changed greatly anyway with who knows what deals will have been struck.

Do not believe this is correct, as you will stay more than 183 days/year you become a tax resident & pay tax in Spain, no matter what the source of income. As Holaitsdavid says theres a reciprocal tax agreement so you wont be taxed in UK.
