If you are a pensioner they are happy for you to have just the EHIC card. Perhaps just double check that with them. 

Or maybe you're just a young girl. If so you will need medical insurance.

It's not that hard but the rules have compleatly change has you are a emergent now there are loads of compnays in spain that will do it for you and it's not that expensive €500

The main stumbling block now is proof of  income 

You have to prove via bank statements that the main person has 2000€ q month income and the second has €1000 a month  3k a month is a long way ouf of the reach of most people if you dont have the income no entry I have spoken to 3 integration lawers in spain and all of them have com up with similar figures plus you have to have a large amount of savings in the bank 

We wanted to retire there now even was in the process of buying a property that has all gone now spain does not want us anymore pepole will get political about blaming us leaving the eu 

But Portugal and Cyprus it's a lot less they want us there
