Heat Pumps and Energy use in winter. (You might own and not realise, air conditioning)

The cheapest way to keep warm a 'heat pump',1 K can give 4 K heat out, which for most people in Spain your 'air con unit on heat', all the modern ones are 'inverters' and very efficient. Note also many oil filled radiators are low wattage, they don't give 'instant heat'. but can work well for background heat, if the 'thermostat set low', they can keep warm for long periods and the power will be off longer than on. The very smallest ones just 500 watts, these very small ones in the bath and shower rooms can stay on low and don't cost a lot to run. There is a 'thermal problem', once a building gets cold, (all the brick work) you need an immense amount of energy to heat the space from stone cold due to the low temperature of the walls and floors. (In my case I never let my building drop below about 18C and the cost of using several oil radiators, plus some 'warm air from air con' has never been very high) Either way, this year, with the war Ukraine, energy much higher for all, summer can be worse with Air Con costs, however, 'the same units only use about 25% of cooling energy on heat, because a heat pump'.
