Hi, yes I received the exact same message from Sabadell.

A few years ago, I had the same request and uploaded a copy of my payslip on the banking pp.  Having retired in July 2021, this time round I uploaded my annual pension statement/salary slip which they accepted without a problem.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Great, thanks for this. Yes, I have uploaded my pension payslip and also spoke to the bank. I will give them a call next week just to double check everything is on order.

Hello

We are non resident and been with sabadell but for many years and not yet received any requests, but that does not mean we won’t do ! Sure if you show them a pension payslip that will suffice ?

Hope it is successful ! It’s always a headache with the banks !!

Hi Julie

Thanks. Yes, that's strange. It may be worth double checking your message box in your account in case you missed the email, or is it in your spam folder?

I received an email notifying me I had a message in my account on 1 December.

I'll update this thread once the bank have confirmed acceptance.

Regards

I have just been through this for myself and my two daughters. It was a massive pain!

Anyway eventually we satisfied Sabadell by each of us providing last years P60 . (Me my pension P60 and the girls their employment P60s) for Financial Standing.

Also we provided recent Pay Slips for the girls and a proof of monthly pension payment for myself.

It appears to have worked.

I also had a face to face with my Branch Manager (good English Speaker) and she confirmed that EVERY Spanish Bank is legally required to untake the exercise.

Thanks! very useful. I had wondered about using the P60 but I'll check if they are happy with the payslips this week and update.

In my experience what Sabadell make up for with their irritating account administration policy and procedures is the decent quality of their English speaking staff

My last irritant was September ‘21 when I was asked for my Tax Office address and reference. The reason being a requirement of ‘the FATCA regulation, the Common Reporting Standard (CRS ) and the Royal Decree 1021/2015’...

...

Imagine their surprise when I asked why it had taken them 6 years to ask me for the data and yet they were giving me a mere 60 days to provide it before blocking my account…

I recommend a telephone call. But don’t forget to complain about the quarterly fee. It’s the law.

Hi, thank you for your insight in Sabadell practices..

I too have a sabadell acct

Can we negotiate these quarterly charges or do you recommend banking elsewhere ?

Thanks

Debbie

I’ve been with Sabadell for 9 years

I understand that if you have other facilities with them the quarterly fee will reduce

If I was a resident and had the time to ensure that my Direct Debits were migrated without a hitch then I’d probably go with a neo-bank. First choice is probably the Berlin based N26 (they have a Spanish IBAN and quality consumer feedback)

As it is I use Wise for any/all non-Direct Debit spending when I’m in Spain. I put GBP on Wise and use it to buy EUR when the FX rate is ok. The EUR’s are either sent to Sabadell direct and/or retained for day to day expenses

All the best

Agreed N26 and Wise the best way to go.
