Estepona v Nueva Andalucia - considering buying a holiday home

We’re in process of buying a 3 bed apartment in the centre of Estepona - “Estepona Gardens”and I have to say the developers have been excellent with monthly updates and pics etc since we can’t travel there - personally I think the appts are very affordable compared to all the new high end ones on the edge of town. Check it out...we missed out on the free parking space and storage rooms that are now included in the price unfortunately! Good luck with your search

Emma, we have bought a 3 bed in Puerto alto Estepona (new apartments) 300 meters from the port. They are not huge but they are affordable for that area. Try easy estepona website for these! We got ours off plan so due to covid still haven’t been inside it🤷‍♂️

I leave near Estepona and think its a lovely little town. Easy access to lots of locations.  Has everything you might wish to do and need.  Yes, lovely beaches where you can walk/ride a bike for miles.

Estepona is also known for their flowers.  That part is always exceptional to me the priority the town puts on maintaining all the flowers.  In normal times its a bustling little town I think with lots of optional ways to live, such as the Old Town or along the Promenade if you like the busier life and just outside in any number of urbanizations (small and larger) and of course villas of all types depending on budget.  

I do believe it affords a really nice balance against some of the more expensive neighbours that you have experienced in other towns along the coast.

Manilva/Sabinellas are handy areas for services but no where near as pretty as Estepona.  If you can afford Estepona there is no question in my mind between the two areas which you should choose.

With any luck the next difficult phase we are in will pass and you can get over here to experience it for yourself.  Kerri

Can any one enlighten me on minilva and the area please looking for a two bed two bath apartment please

Manilva (a few minutes inland by car) and Sabinillas (along the beach) (in my opinion) are a bit run down and not nearly as nice as Estepona -- reflected in the huge variance in price.  Manilva and its surrounding area (Sabinillas) however are very convenient for everything you might need including a lovely long promenade, restaurants and markets.  Also close to the Dequesa Port which is very busy but has alot of restaurants and things you might want, such as an English Butcher.

I wouldn't discount the entire area but I would recommend you check it out yourself so you are sure you have bought in an area that suits you.

There may be people on this forum who have homes in lovely urbanizations that I am not aware of as I live in Casares but I do go to Sabi all the time because it has everything you need.

Actually, its probably a more typical Spanish town than Estepona is - a little rough around the edges but a good place to live as its convenient.

As in rough i presume its dated and more Spanish and not rough as in the clientele poor security etc

We dont know the area obviously we have been to Estepona Bennalmad  and Marbella but the prices as you say are in line with the areas 

we intend to visit in Sept or maybe put back to November and will take on board your advice
