Thanks for that insight.

So only requiring 3, or less than 7 days hire and not really fussed about keeping the car over the weekend, so will probably stick at 3 days hire.

In that time I want to stock up on shopping (I'm mainly a home cook) and also pick up a cheapish second hand bicycle for the duration. I will be advertising for a bike around November time on the wanted forum and can hopefully get one coordinated with my arrival and pick it up in the car along with a fare amount of bottled water, although i guess delivery of bottled water is available?

"bottled water, although I guess delivery of bottled water is available?"

HA HA 'bottled water', water here is fine, if want filtered just buy one for about 20 Euro.

Good quote ....... See link
Safe to drink and tastes ok

I have hired cars from a number of different companies and found the Yellow Car the best. They are very helpful, easy to deal with and very good value with full insurance.

Thanks for that.

Yes I won't be struggling up the hill with large bottles of water!

I do use RO water in the UK  filtered from the tap using an Osmio Zero device. Used for all my drinking water and especially in Coffee machines otherwise they get gummed up with limescale in the UK and eventually get so clogged they stop working.

I have nothing against tap water when the analysis of its chemical makeup is readily available.

Hi there I use MALAGACAR .COM

on a regular basis you can get on their bus at airport.

Then they take you to collect your car very efficient

Definitely recommend good luck

I would not use anyone else these days but Malagacar.com. Polite, efficient and very competitive prices. You are collected by their bus at the airport and brought back the same way.

I am only hiring a car for less than a week but I am staying in Calahonda for 90 days.

With Helle Hollis I can return the car to Fuengirola making it easier to get back to Calahonda on the bus as I like to utilise public transport as much as possible. Not sure if that's available with Malagacar?

I priced Malagarcar against Helle Hollis yesterday for my dates and they were almost twice the price of Helle Hollis.

A poster mentioned that Malagarcar prices tended to fluxuate, maybe I caught them on a bad day!

Yes Malaga Car prices can bounce up and down with demand, the insurance you are talking about is 'access cover' below. It's a bolt on when you hire a car in Spain, but if very short term, like a few days I don't think worth it, you can pay as an extra, regular hirers have annual policies..

I probably caused the upsurge in price myself by trying out many different length of times for hiring! It may have appeared to be a lot of traffic for the dates I inputted?

Will just accept the full insurance cover from the hirer in that case as I will not need the car again during my stay.

Thanks
