Hi all. I am buying the lease on a bar. Near fuengirola. And I am planning on driving over from the UK via France on 23rd April

I will be in receipt of the contract. But it will only be signed by me. As my business partners are awaiting my arrival to sign.

I am finding it difficult to get a clear answer as to whether this is enough reason to be allowed in.

I will also have an apartment rental agreement on email.

Any advice would be GREATLY Appreciated

Hi Tony

Non-Residents are not allowed in  Spain at the moment. Even if you have all this paperwork with you, you may be stopped at the Spanish Border and told to return home. I would not advise doing anything under the present circumstances. This is just  my own personal advice.

Hope this helps

Nigel

Purchase of a leasehold should always and only be done through a solicitor who will look over the leasehold agreement and contract between sellers and contract between the buyers. Ask your solicitor for an email stipulating you are traveling for business and work. Print this letter off for your passage out of UK and passage through other countries. Also you will have to prove you have a house awaiting you through an estate agents. You will need the rental contract frome the estate agents. Ask them to email the contract with their signature on the contract. Then print off and sign. Make several copies of all contracts as this will be needed in several areas, borders, and officiating buildings.

Also everyone has to have a CPR test and paperwork to prove negative, also the card you are given from G.P that states when and where you had your double does vacination and inclusive of which vacination. Plus it Is advised to request from your G.P a print off of your recent medical records which will show you have had a vacination.

Go properly armed or you could find yourself with a heavy bill to get yourself out of trouble, and never sign anything without solicitors present.

On returning to UK you will need PCR test again, and proof of permanent address or you might end up in a hotel with another large fee.

Also to remember that Spain has not vaccinated all the over 70's yet. In UK it is at 40's and under now. So think of every one's health as vaccinated people can carry the dease without symptoms.

Good luck
