We, my wife and me habe received twice  a PCR Test at " Camapnario Medical Center" in Sitio de Calahonda. Last time my wife only needed an antigen test, to travel back to Germany.

People there are very profesional and polite. After an appointment by phone, I did not have to wait more than 5 mins, even there were a lot of people waiting.

the costs for PCR were 80 € and Antigen 45€.

Maybe the prices have changed to lower, e.g. I payed for PCR in March 21  120 €.

You will get an report (Paper and Mail) in ES and GB, .... very clear with all information you need to pass at the airport gate without problems.

A story

I got my PCR test at Malaga airport for about €55 . I booked 3 weeks ahead . The centre is in departures but is difficult to find - but it’s near the pharmacy ….

the test result was emailed the following day . The Day 2 test in the UK was booked through BA and cost £44. But there was a problem . Randox send the sample box to my UK address 2 weeks before it was due to be used . The delivery driver left it under my car where it sat for 2 weeks .

When I got to the UK I took the day 2 test but it has to be put in a Randox box which even in London are few - I had to travel 10 miles to deliver it .stupid .

the test result came back the following day as ‘inconclusive ‘- and casually told me to quarantine from the day of the second test or take another test . ! No way .so I researched what to do .I landed up going to an NHS test centre and getting a PCR test kit . This was used and sent in the post . I got a negative result the following day .

Lesson learnt -

1 cheapest is not necessarily best

2 you are on your own

3 the British government doesn’t want people to travel .

Could only get a test from Malaga airport.couldn’t get a booking as no available appointments so went and waited in the morning. Only waited a short while and had Antigen test at 60€ which was accepted for travel back to uk.

I would suggest you go later on in the day if you haven’t got  an appointment as more people tend to go early .

Just to add - I had both NHS jabs a month before travelling to Spain - in fact Spain dumped the pre flight PCR test 4 days before I travelled so ‘saved ‘ £100 - the cheapest at the time in Uk ..

Because BA has cancelled our Monday morning flight from Malaga to Heathrow we now have to spend the Monday night at a Heathrow hotel before catching an onward flight to the USA the on the Tuesday morning. Our question is whether there is somewhere that we can get a test done near Nerja/Velez-Malaga on a Sunday. If not then the 72 hours will be up before we arrive in the USA.

Travelling back from Spain to UK.

Clinica Bonal half way between Velez Malaga and Torre del Mar - +34 952546523

Avda. Infanta Elena, Edif. Juan Carlos I
29740 Torre del Mar (Málaga)

https://www.clinicabonal.es/

PCR test result within 24 hours 120 euros, very quick and easy.

A bit of a shambolic queueing system but hey it's Spain and it was more pleasant than the UK equivalents I've experienced.

We had antigen tests in Malaga airport on Saturday morning. We had booked and were seen very quickly. There was another queue for those that just turned up on the day, and they were getting through that queue fairly quickly €24.99

Booked the Day 2 test through a company called Expert Medicals, £35.99 for antigen test. Cost for day 2 + day 8 is £77.99. Return via Royal Mail tracked 24 so no need to travel miles for a drop box, just need a post office

We've had lots of posts asking for advice on how and where to get covid tests before travelling to/from Spain and I would like to compile a list of these suppliers so we can help others.

Please help by replying to this topic - please only reply if you can help with the answers to the below. For general discussion please use other topics....

...

Please let me know:

Where you received the test (location and contact details etc)What type of test it was (PCR / Lateral flow / Antigen etc)Cost of the testWas it for travelling to or from Spain?Whether you had any problems using it for travel?

Travelled 1 July. Took lateral flow test CENTRO MEDICO ARZTEZENTRUM Urb. Bau Hofmann, BLOQUE 88 29793 Torrox Costa

Tel. 952 967 055

We decided against testing in Malaga Airport in case of queues. In Torrox, Cost 40 euro. Kept the certificateon the phone, printed it also, just in case, no problems boarding at al.

Looked on internet at UK Gov approved testers. Saw two at £64 pounds, went through the first one, got to checkout, £35 each for delivery!

Next one was Dante Labs £64 for each test, no delivery charge. Booked that. Tests were waiting for us in England. Perfect service after that.

One to note. The day you fly is day zero I thought it was day one! So, day 2 test is ok around day 2 but day eight MUST be done on day 8, I nearly got it wrong, apparently they can actually send it back if you think day seven is day eight then you have to pay again!

Thanks for the info about Day0, Day1, etc. We will be in the UK overnight but less than 24 hours in total. Do we still have to book and pay for Day2 and Day 8?
