Hi All. I'm looking to move over to Malaga later on this year. I'll have money in the bank. Can I apply for a resident visa whilst in Spain and what visa would I need, with the view to working afterwards.

Kind regards

Lee

You really need an agent to deal with all the paper work an application, these people give a free consultation and have loads of videos on You Tube. https://upsticks.es/

You can also apply via Spanish consulate in UK.

Second vote for Upsticks, you need professional advice and support, not internet based anecdotes.

I used Elena Rey Delgado in Manilva and consider mine to have been an extremely difficult application for various reasons...She got it through in 23 days including dealing with some questions raised about the application and request for further documents....very reasonably priced as well....

It really depends on what passport you hold, UK or EU?

Certainly different rules depending on your passport.

UK passport

If you are a uk passport holder and want to live and work in Spain you will need to have a contracted job offer to be able to apply for a work visa. All available work in Spain must be offered to an EU citizen first by law. If there is no suitable EU citizen to fill the position the the prospective employer can offer the position to a non EU citizen.

You could initially apply for a non lucrative visa which after a full year of legally living in Spain you could exchange for a work visa.

To apply for a non lucrative visa you will need to apply from the uk Spanish consulate and prove the income and healthcare requirements.
