I know others are trying to be helpful; however the only answer I would give is that there is a good reason for the rules, and it is to reduce the risk of infecting others.

I don’t want to be flying out to Spain sitting next to an unvaccinated person, even if they have a valid reason for not taking it....

...

I am sorry to be blunt, but we all have choices, and in this case the choice is to get vaccinated or stay at home.

Not at all....I am not chastising anyone, I am simply suggesting that we stay on topic and remain welcoming to new members. The subject in this case is always going to be contentious.

I very definitely don’t want to sit next to an anti vaxxer , either . Nor should anyone have to . It would be better if the airlines and ferries didn’t put the rest of us at risk by transporting them . I am fully in agreement with Macron in this respect .

Who has said that anyone here is an anti-vaxxer? All I have suggested is that we stay on topic, assist people that ask questions and make them feel welcome.

The OP is female and why does she have to explain why she is not vaccinated? She asked a question that some people answered to the best of their ability. Since when does this forum require that every question comes with a back story that will satisfy all members? I am not looking to argue with anyone, simply suggesting that we make people feel welcome rather than being judgmental and stay on topic. If somebody talks about their cat dying we don't start telling them how they should have looked after it better....

Well AndyP, I didn't bother to answer you last time as you said you wanted to close it down but have continued to open it up, so here is my take on it.

Juliet came into the forum to ask advice on if she could travel into our midst unvaccinated.

This caused some forum members to be annoyed, a lot of people who have taken the vaccination to protect themselves and others are annoyed by anti-vaxxers.

Only one person has stated in error that Juliet is an anti-vaxxer, (Juliet says 'we' so maybe more in her family want to travel unvaccinated).

A few other people have stated their feelings about unvaccinated people and unless they have medical exemption , I too dislike their selfish attitude, I don't want them in the same plane, bus, restaurant or bar as me.

So, before deciding whether to be helpful in a case like this, I think that is why people are trying to find out if Juliet and her travelling companions are antivaxxxers or genuinely exempt. That is why these replies are still on topic.

I have had Covid and I have 2 types of antibodies . Research from Israel and from Japan shows that natural immunity is 27 times stronger than vaccine induced in the case of Covid.

All my vaccinated friends are going down one by one with Omicron and seem to be permanently sick.

I do have a good reason for not being vaccinated but my own medical choices remain personal.

But thanks for your feedback

It states here results suggest that COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are around five times more effective at preventing hospitalization than a previous infection. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/covid-19-do-vaccines-protect-better-than-infection-induced-immunity

Either way makes it easier to travel and in Spain right now you need a vaccine certificate for enclosed places like restaurants.

Just wondering why you are so worried about sitting next to unvaccinated people. Im not saying im always right but the media isn't always right either.

You can still spread and catch from vaccinated people.

Reason why people got it was to help hospitals as they wouldn't get ill and take up a bed. Well that's not true as both are taking up beds (depends on what channel or paper you read)

You don't catch it worse or catch it easier if someone isn't vaccinated.

Hope you have a good year.

Much love x

I’m not worried as I won’t be sitting next to them.

They are not allowed into Spain and rightly so.
