We were assuming that we would meet the minimum salary requirements for residency with my Army pension, however the figure I'm using is gross and not net if tax was deducted at source in the UK. Can anyone advise on this.

Nigel, many thanks. Doesn't look like we'll meet the salary requirement of 27k after all as we wouldn't receive that Net in Spain after UK tax deduction at source. I'll give them a ring to check. I guess things could change in 4 years time when we plan to move.

Hi Guys

Re: Non-lucrative visa

I thought the 27k minimum requirement was a one-off and not an annual requirement.

For example: sell your house in the UK, soon as the equity from the sale of the house is in your bank/building society account, if it's 27k or over: bingo! you meet the requirements.

Or...if you've been able to stash away 27k in savings.

Correct me if I'm on the wrong track.

Cheers
