I'm going to mijas in September for the first time but can't decide which area to stay due to lack of knowledge. I've heard of Mijas Pueblo, Costa Mijas, Mijas Laguna, cala Mijas Mijas Village etc. I'm going for 11 nights. Unsure is it best to go to beach area then travel to Mijas Pueblo or stay in Mijas pueblo and travel to the beach? Also interested in websites to get accommodation as I've just booked the flight only.

I think the question to ask is will you have a car? Mijas village nice, packed in September, full of tourist & mostly souvenir shops, long way from the beach. The places you mention vary a lot, if beach important, best to find accommodation in walking distance, that time of the year parking can be very difficult.

Thinking a car for a few days only. Like walking along the beach but not necessarily lying on it much. Like the look ofc the village as seen on TV property programmes. If I decide on the beach area unsure as to which area there and its distance them to get to the village and if that requires just a bus or car, then parking in that area?

Many good beaches, in the area, if you want a combination, beach and village feel you might like the feel of La Cala de Mijas, which is on the coast. You can drive up to Mijas village in about 30 minutes. (It's a nice place, but not sure you would want to stay there very long, full with tourists coach trips and souvenir shops) Possible to explore most places on You Tube.
