I’m new to this forum . I’m in England but due to travel to La Cala at the end of March- flying into Malaga Airport . Could someone describe the current state of public transport as there doesn’t seem much detail online . I’m aware of the the Declaration of Emergency .thanks .

Hi there,

Public transport is now limited. I'm not sure what it will be like by the time you get here. Buses and taxis are running but with a reduced service. I don't know if you are coming here for a holiday or an extended period but, you need to know that going out for anything other than essentials is not allowed. That is, not a stroll on the beach or around the plaza or the hills. Police are stopping cars with passengers in, as only the driver is allowed out. There are no bars or restaurants or clubs open at all, anywhere. Breaking these laws will get each person a 600 euro fine, it's possible to be sent to prison for 3 months,
If you are happy to come and sit in your accommodation and only one of you go out to get food for cooking at home - fine. There really is nothing at all going on!

Very grateful -  I live from time to time in la Cala and BA hasn’t cancelled the flight yet . But I’m the circumstances I think I’ll just have to lose the return flight - London ( outer ) at the moment feels like Boxing Day .... Or similar .

Well, if you are used to spending time in Spain, perhaps it'll have some meaning to you if I say that Spain is silent! This will be catastrophic for the tourist and hospitality industry here. I really feel for those who rely on seasonal trade, the economy is still fragile and it's been hard work for some people to get back on their feet. I hope these drastic measures work and things get back to a sort of normal soon.
