thanks xxHi there everyone. Returned to La Duquesa after a 14 month gap due to Covid. Found our apartment full of black smelly mould everywhere. Spent 5 hours trying to remove it but it he smell remains. All clothes, sheets, towels etc need rewashing as well as the crockery. Going to buy a dehumidifier tomorrow and wondered if you recommend a suitable one we can leave on when we go back to the uk. Thanks xx

Mould and mildew remover works perfect.

Or even try diluted bleach.

Then if you have time mould and mildew paint.

Hi Kathryn

Air-conditioning removes the moisture from the air and, therefore, you might leave this running on its lowest setting.

You will have to balance that against a much higher electricity bill and it may not be worth it over winter.

Now that travel restrictions have eased, surely you will not leave your home so long?

Alternatively, get someone local to check your home, say once every month, to open the windows for a few hours?

We left windows open and shutters down, with slats cracked open, but feel that a lot of things like table lamps have suffered corrosion from the sea air . . . .

Best regards

Philip
