Hello, I am new to the forum so be gentle with me as this question has no doubt been asked countless times. Flying from the UK to Manilva and surround, is Gibralta the best option and is there any transport from there other than car to get to Manilva as I didnt intend driving. Thanks

Gibraltar is nearer but not so many flights , taxis, buses from La Linea just over the Spanish border (walking 5mins)
Malaga has many flights , if you arrive at reasonable hour then there is an airport bus , if later then there are many transfer taxis that you can book . Malaga transfers & happy transfers are company we have used but there are many on offer , varying prices .

Cheers

Take the bus number E240 , bus stop number 5 from La Linea bus station to Sabinillas , costs 3.83€, then get a taxi to manilva .
Hi Martin,
I think Fiona and Dave have made the key points.
I would just add from my own experience that:
a) I did hire a car for a few days that was not much more than taking a taxi from Malaga Airport (€100+). It might be different now, but worth checking.
b) Their is a local bus that goes from San Luis up to Manilva
c) Gibraltar can be more risky in the winter months as it is vulnerable to weather (winds).

Do you know how often this bus runs, or how to find the timetables?
Many thanks

Hi Maura,
Here is link to bus timetable.
Leaving from the Viñas Interpretation Center of Manilva (CIVIMA), the bus will continue through Manilva Green, Mexican Pueblo, will make a stop next to the Civil Guard Barracks to continue towards Duquesa Port, El Hacho, Los Hidalgos, Princess Kristina, Hacienda Guadalupe and will reach Bahía de las Rocas. Then continue on to Sabinillas.Posted: Thu May 4, 2023 4:34pm
Follow Fiona1960's advice! Book ahead with Avanza on the net. The bus stop is nearer than the Taxi rang!!, probably only 85 Yards from the airport building exit.!!
Do not be afraid of asking for help, Spaniards are very agreeable
