Talking of taxes this is also a great online service, who give good advice and enable people to pay their taxes, run by Scandinavians based in Malaga, first class.  https://taxadora.com/

The head guy has an MBA in finance from Manchester perfect English and has a team of experts in Spanish taxation.

...ect Debits, plus ATM access for cash.  Much easier than Spanish Banks and much cheaper, plus they have great security when you use the APP.

I am presuming that our local 'council tax' can be paid through N26 but I have not got that far yet (to set up direct debits).

Thought I would do all this and once I am completely set up on N26 I can cancel my Sabadell account that I pay 160 euro per year for!  I can get all sorts of benefits from the N26 plan that I do not get from Sabadell but starting with the free version and take it a step at a time.

Thought others would be interested to follow this thread along.  I will post again once I get my direct debits set up.

The only challenge for me was having a poor-quality phone that doesn't take good images.  Also was trying to use my Residencia TIE when they wanted a passport.  So a few hazy areas as you go through the process.  But fail often enough and they pick up automatically and connect you to a live person.

I also had a question about a setting and once I got through fighting with a Bot in Chat, a live person came on and helped me quickly.

Whew....step one done!

Just to finish this story...it took awhile and although I have not yet cancelled my Sabadell I have tested the N26 app for online payments, in store payments and have moved over ALL my direct debits.  It seems N26 can totally replace Sabadell except maybe not quite so easy to go and take out...

I made my last 40 euro payment to Sabadell in December and have scheduled to close the account before the next charge in March.
