How to pay for my traffic ticket??

Don't think much you can do if the on-line not working, my son got a ticket and paid and worked, which was bad news, only to find the hire company paid the ticket too and deducted from his card. He paid twice.

 just bring the ticket to the post office ( correos) an they will sort it not a problem 👌

Funny the same thing happened here.  Driving a rental car from Portugal to Spain.  Sounding pretty fishy all this!

I also paid online which was 50% off but you have gone beyond that timeframe required for the discount.  This was 3 years ago and I am a Spanish resident so that might have made a difference.

Maybe you have resolved this by now and hopefully that is the case.  Nothing like this is easy in Spain.  Things don't work online and then they do.  Try another browser (do not know what your actual problem was but standard procedure to have problems!!) or another payment method.  Keep trying things as suddenly things work for no reason whatsoever.

Like I posted, my son had no problem paying online when in the US, the shame being the hire company paid too and deducted from card! 

Seems they ingest money fine, lol Getting is back much harder,
