Hi. I'm looking to relocate myself and my family to Spain. My father in-law has a house near Torrox where he spends when its winter. Hes suggested that we look in and around Estepona as this is an up and coming area. I have 3 children ranging from 8 - 16 so good schooling would be essential.

I've been looking at properties near the Valle Romano Golf Course not part of the complex. Do you think this is suitable for Children? Is there enough for them to do?

As far as work, i currently run a small construction company here in the UK. We would probably keep this going with me running it from Spain.

How is the property market? I would be looking to make a living property developing, buying plots and building. How does the market look at the moment?

My Wife is flying out to stay with her dad at the end of January. Shes very keen to have a look around Estepona are there any areas you feel she should visit?

Any help or advise would be very much appreciated as this is obviously a massive upheaval for the family and i would really like peoples honest opinions on the area.

Thanks J

Hi there, just read your post. Did you move?

We are thinking of relocating with 3 children ages 2 to 12!

Any regrets if you took the plunge? And would love any advice too. ☺️

Hi J

There is a huge amount for you to think about and it’s more complicated with children.  My suggestion would be to come over for a trial period during the school holidays (min 2 months) with your kids and see how you all enjoy it.  I’m a big fan of Estepona but I don’t have children so it’s a huge difference for me. Work wise if you are a good honest builder you will not lack work and opportunity.  The schools are great and Estepona is amazing.  If your wife wants to meet for a chat / coffee please message me and I will give my very honest feedback to her.  Good luck but be cautious with your choices.  Alan x
