Hi

I am looking to rent long term in Costa del sol. Unsure of areas. Have 20 year olds and grandchild, so family friendly. Somewhere with Spanish feel and busy all year round and near coast, shops and restaurants. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Lynn

I think the busiest Spanish town on the coast 'all year round' is Fuengirola, it has a tourist part at the front, but most of the town population is Spanish, Video last Christmas, pandemic then  of not so busy of course. (Apart from Malaga itself which is an amazing City and offers most things all year round)

Hello,

My husband and I moved from the US to Spain over 2 years ago and fell in love with San Pedro Alcantara.

It's a quiet little town but very active with restaurants, Spanish and American schools, filled with children and places for them to play. Since the shutdown the end of last year, we watched many places close down but once we've opened up, people are beginning to come back, including tourists.

We have a lovely promenade on the beach loaded with restaurants and activities. The city itself is well taken care of.

Make sure you check out the area you decide to move into. Not to scare you, and it doesn't seem to effect most of the population, there are a few gangs but they tend to effect each other, not the residents and are mostly higher in the mountains or in the larger cities.

We feel safe here, living on the outskirts of downtown San Pedro and walk around the city anytime of the day or night.

I hope you find a place and please let me know if there is any way I can help you.

Toni

Lynn mentioned  "Spanish feel and busy all year round and near coast" plus 20 year olds, the reason I mentioned Spanish town Fuengirola, which is a favourite with the Spanish people and busy all the year round.  The coast offers a lot of choice for most people,

Malaga City is the crown on the Coast, sadly the coast railway terminates south at Fuengirola.
