Yesterday I returned to the U.K. from estepona and we got our Antigen test (NB Ryanair said we needed a PCR test but their link to the government website says PCR or Antigen test) done at Hospiten in Estepona. Their Antigen test is above the required specifications which is good. Cost 50 euros and results in an hour. You can book online on their website.

Hi Guys,

My wife and I are coming over to Estepona in July in order to view rental properties for our move in September. We know we need to get the Day 2 & Day 8 tests in advance for the PLF and obviously we have to self isolate for 10 (or 5 if we opt to pay the extra) days on return, all this is fine...

... (tongue in cheek!). But my question is, where is the best / cheapest place in the Estepona area for us to get the PCR test to gain entry back into the UK - does Malaga airport offer a PCR 'while you wait' service as yet? If not, where can we get the PCR preferably on the same day basis in the area? We will have a car, so can travel to Marbella or the like if there are better options.

Thanks in advance!

Tim

We had pre-booked Antigen test at Malaga Airport (€25), we arrived about 15 minutes before our appointment but were still seen, to note there was also a queue (long) for those without an appointment. A nurse did the test and we checked the portal 15/20 minutes later and our negative result was there. So you will need a mobile that allows to get onto the website.

Passport control was very speedy, went to queue in the non-EU line but was called over to empty spot at EU desk, but then there wasn’t many on the flight.

At the Ryanair desk, our Covid test result was checked and she looked at things on her computer so that was longer than normal.

At UK airport they didn’t ask to see either our Covid test result or UK passenger locator form, saying she could see it all on the computer, so that was easy.

My Day 2 & 8 tests were delivered by DPD (purchased from Testing For All £99) on my day of arrival home.

Both of us received a call from Track & Trace today (day 1).

Hi there we found the pcr fit to fly tests and certificates very efficient at centyn hospital on seafront old town estepona. We had to do it within 48 hours of travelling and we were flying over weekend so had test on Friday and downloaded certificate Sunday morning before we flew but was available on the Saturday. BA needs to see the certificate at the moment before you fly but watch the gov website as they are talking about removing the need to test for amber countries if you are double vaccinated in the coming weeks
