Hi Guys,

My wife and I are coming over to Estepona in July in order to view rental properties for our move in September. We know we need to get the Day 2 & Day 8 tests in advance for the PLF and obviously we have to self isolate for 10 (or 5 if we opt to pay the extra) days on return, all this is fine (tongue in cheek!). But my question is, where is the best / cheapest place in the Estepona area for us to get the PCR test to gain entry back into the UK - does Malaga airport offer a PCR 'while you wait' service as yet? If not, where can we get the PCR preferably on the same day basis in the area? We will have a car, so can travel to Marbella or the like if there are better options.

Thanks in advance!

Tim

Hi Tim

Welcome in advance to the Costa Del Sol.

I am sorry this is not a reply to your question, as I have not had to experience travel as yet.

I do however have a brand new 2 bed 2 bath ground floor apartment with terrace and small garden and a large community pool.comes with a secure underground car parking space and store serviced by a lift. Its also just been all newly furnished. It’s available from the 1st September.

Please let me know if your interested in viewing it.

Regards

Patrick

Hi Tim

Yes, Malaga Airport has a Test Centre but gets fully booked up very quickly as it is cheap. i suggest booking a Private Test. Have a look at  this website below for a few Clinics which will help you get this test.

OK so I found this for Malaga Airport - just to be clear - and open for discussion, but I believed you needed to have a full PCR test to get back into the UK - therefore the results from the airport for a PCR take 12 hours, so you will need to do this one day before to ensure you have the result. This is the route I will be taking for my return on 24th July, I will drive back to the airport on 23rd and take the test for £50 then collect results (if they are not emailed or text) on the day of flying. Not much else to do really. If it is negative, not sure what will happen then!!

Thanks for this, but are the airlines fussy about this? Do you need a PCR to board their flights?

No they accept antigen home. Your 2 and 8 test has to be a pcr
