In June I will be staying outside the centre in the Benamara Urbanization without a car, so I am looking for local taxis to be able to access the centre of Estepona to access buses to other places. (I am assuming that buses will be impossible?) I speak reasonable Spanish for tourist related vocabulary, so it would be good to find a reliable local taxi company (rather than uber) that I could use regularly.

look for a white car with a taxi logo on the side. wave it down. they will take you where you want to go.

they look like this - white cars with a double green stripe diagonal on the front door.
Download an app called Pide Taxi (as advertised on the taxis) It uses the phone's location for pick up and, if you need to, use the app to book taxis in advance.

Good bus service to Estepona/ Marbella just outside the urbanisation bus L79 every half hour.

Thank you very much, yes I started off looking at this, but looking at google maps at the Hotel Santa Marta bus stop, it just looks like an empty lay by with no sign of a hotel or proper bus stop! so yes, I would sometimes just like to hop on a bus, but I am having difficulty finding a website showing a proper bus schedule with all the bus stops. Thank you again.

every half hour mon -sat -santa Marta is just a lay by or you can walk to isdabe next to Aldi supermarket bus stop.
check out the stanza group website for l79bus. hotel Santa Marta is the new hotel[eyesore] under construction on the south side of the A7 next to the overhead crossing bridge.

Thanks for all your help Phil, I have located the Isdabe bus stop on google maps, so it gives me a bit more confidence. One last thing, can one buy a ticket on board the bus? or a supermarket or does one have to purchase the ticket online? Many thanks Elaine
