Had my Wise card in the UK for the last year now and travelled to the USA and Spain in that time and got good transfer rates and had no issues whatsoever. It’s approaching the time now for us to use them to pay the balance on an apartment (Approximately 110,000€) and I am just a little nervous. Has anyone used them for this sort of sum and was it done as a single transfer or multiples?
Thanks in advance

Rick

I sold a Florida Condo and used Wise exclusively in $25,000 tranches over a 2/3 week period (for FX reasons)

No issues whatsoever and Wise mitigated some of the ridiculous charges levied by US banks

Wise is very good and reliable. There are other FX companies as well. Remitly and Smart Currency Exchange are good too. You can always compare their fees. Banks are always expensive.

I recently used them to send money to Peru  it has gone to a holding account as HSBC said it was fraudulent. They do answer e mails and try to help. I think the problem is HSBC   Could your lawyer do it thru his holding account . That would be safer. Enjoy Spain

I use Wise all the time, never had a problem, very efficient and low cost..

Wise plc (formerly Transferwise) reported an 80% increase in total income for three months, between October and December 2022, The company's latest figures show growth in all relevant financial indicators. Volume increased 28% YoY to '£26.4 billion', and revenue grew 50% to £225.2 million compared to the same period a year earlier.

Wise have limits on withdrawals/transfers, which are also different depending on which country your account is allocated to.

I would suggest you contact Wise directly, detail what you want to do, ask them to confirm how you should go about transferring the money due to the amount involved and to detail any charges they will make.

Like others I have found Wise very good and they respond quickly to requests.

You don't want any last minute surprises.
