I use Wise to transfer money to family all over the world including Spain, Slovakia, Bangladesh and USA. Very fast and far better rates than the big banks. They don't have an age limit that I am aware of.

We have been up using Wise (transfer wise ) for about 3 years now. Can change up any amount small or large . Our transaction have never been questioned . Money always arrived . We sometimes put money in to the account and change up when rate is good. We are also starting to use wise to pay our bills and internet ( orbit);as £45 quarter charge from Sabadell for doing nothing is too expensive.

I have used TransferWise, now just Wise, for a couple of years and they beat XE Money and others both on exchange rates and, in particular, speed:  transfers from a UK bank to CajaSur are the same as UK bank to UK bank, and take 1 or 2 seconds.

It is worth bearing in mind that Wise has its headquarters in New York, in the USA, does not have offices in the UK and you do not have the usual protections from loss.  I would think twice before handing over €500,000 odd for a golden visa purchase although, if they transfer the funds immediately, the risk of loss is relatively small.

The same applies to XE Money which has its headquarters in Ontario, Canada, but XE Money does have offices in the UK.  I found XE Money transfers were next day, at best, and the day after next or worse if a weekend intervened.

UK banks are pretty hopeless on exchange rates although, if you are transferring a 6 figure sum you can try to negotiate a special rate for that one transaction and, if you are prepared to walk, they should deal.
