We had a cleaner doing our apartment for a few years when we learnt it was rented out without our knowledge and conned out of few thousand Euros. i installed a  covert cctv camera to record the cleaner doing 1hr of cleaning and charging us for 4hrs cleaning. Same person was doing the same trick to another guy on the block.

We make sure when last tenant leaves, if there is a reasonable gap to the next one, we get the cleaner/keyholder to switch off the water heater and the Fridge Freezer.
