Hate to point this out, but it is not affects, it is effects. Sorry, the teacher in me coming out

Oh right..... Thanks for pointing this out. Not my biggest worry at the moment but I will try to brush up on my grammar if I survive this deadly virus 🙄

Hi Tracy,

Please forgive me if I caused any offence, that was never my intention. Do keep yourself safe and well

Sadly, I was expected to teach English, amongst other subjects and this acceptance of grammatical errors shows the deterioration of standards. I worked in senior management training and the one thing I always reinforced to people, was that your writing is something you will be judged on. Do not think it is not noticed, it is and people do think less of you for it. There again, I like to do things properly.

Really? Confusing two different words with different meanings is OK then? No wonder I keep getting asked to teach English courses and no wonder i keep refusing to.

Why are you getting upset? I am not in the wrong here. What have people got to worry about? Looking after yourself should be second nature, not an instruction from the authorities. I keep myself fit and have no worries about catching the virus. I have just been out shopping as well, loads of people are out. I did teach in High schools, colleges and a university, as well as writing GCSE exam papers. I pointed out an error and it seems to have upset people. Not sure why.

You cannot help yourself can you? Here is your latest attempt to be adequate, you are not. Your literacy levels betray you. I have never said I was retired, you are making claims that are imagined. Look at the errors below.

1. Lower case i instead of a capital letter

2. Double space between words

3. 2 full stops

4. Question mark after a statement, not a question

5. Your instead of you're

6. How can you possibly know my current status?

7. I have a life

8. Moronic use of End of. Pathetic. End of what exactly?

I threw people of courses for not being able to perform at Level 5 and above, you would never make Level 1 as proven here.

I'm not upset i just don't like or approve of people putting others down  when it is neither the time nor your place to do so.. You are retired?  Stay that way. Your not a teacher or management now. Get a life.   End of.....

Please point out the errors that you have identified and I will apologise profusely. I did type it on my phone and I am useless with it.

Marion, what I said was meant to be gentle humour, not an insult. Some people have taken it completely the wrong way, you included. I have no wish to upset you or anybody else, but resorting to insults will generate a response from me. I must admit, I cannot see the mistakes, but I do make them as I am far from perfect. I even know Torrox and Torrox Costa and was going to buy a house on the beach in the complex there..

Hi Marion, I agree. I should have approached it differently and I do apologise. I am really quite easy to get along with, I am told. I type on my phone like some demented moron because I have got sausage fingers and need glasses to see the buttons, but I am old and broken down, so that's my excuse. I spent many holidays in Torrx but ended up where I am because I saw the house I love and just bought it, but I loved Torrox. I am going to put together a few fitness tips, so watch out for them. Nothing strenuous, just gentle exercises. Hope you join in.
