Hi Caz

It was great to see your interaction with Jenni & Bob, we can completely agree with their comments, Casares is a beautiful village, everyone is so friendly here, we bought a house that had been empty sometime and have tried to use local tradespeople for anything we haven't been able to do our...

...selves at our house, the local people really appreciate this.

Please feel free to get in touch if/when you know you're coming, we would be very pleased to help you in any way we can.

We also know of some local rentals for long and short stays if you get stuck.

You really won't regret "taking the plunge" & we are biased but looked for almost 4 years before buying, Casares is the best of both worlds in this area.

Take care & speak soon

Karen & Tony

Karen and Tony, Thank you both for your most welcome message. It is so reassuring to make contact with you all. Firstly glad to hear that you are all keeping well during this challenging time. I wonder if it has made us appreciate our freedom more!

I am on my own attempting to visit Casares and being recently retired I am excited and a little apprehensive too. I am looking for a rental first, maybe to visit around June if we are permitted to travel by then. Or maybe sept/Oct. then possibly looking for a winter rental.   If you do have some ideas that I could look up, I would be most grateful to you and an idea of costs maybe,.

Thank you again for your communication and look forward to your reply.

Hi Jenni, thanks for replying, it was lovely to hear from you..

Sorry for the delay in responding, Karen's been quite poorly but is now feeling much better.

The village is very quiet but it's very reassuring to see the village is being cleansed a couple of times a day.

Whereabouts in the village is your property?

If there's anything we can do to support you, please let us know.

We absolutely love Casares, our brother also has a property in the camp here in Casares which is how we found this beautiful gem ... truly beautiful place...everyone is so friendly here, we just love it!

When this is over, it would be great to meet up if you're visiting, in the meantime, stay safe and keep well, all the best!

Tony & Karen

Morning Karen and tony. Good to hear from you and glad Karen is on the mend. Our little house is called casa contenta, it’s in Calle villa directly opposite the town hall. The one with the plant pots. We had flights booked for Easter and also July but doubt we will see casares this year. Would definitely like to meet up once this is all over. Stay safe jenni and bob

Hi,

Hope you don’t mind me joining this chat, I’ve just sold my home and business in England think the same will complete late August. Was looking for a rental in Casares and have been talking to all the usual letting agents. But some seem slightly odd and wondered if there were many private rentals available. Was just looking for a nice home in a great village town 2/3 beds two bathrooms away from I take it the madness of Marbella. Is there such a forum as a private rental site?  I take it from your messages above Casares is a great place to live.

Many thanks and stay safe.

Paul

Hi there! I have just moved from the U.K. to Bahia de Casares with my husband, Nigel. We got our TIE yesterday (yaaaassss!), so things are feeling a bit more real life now, as opposed to a month-long holiday. Soooo…. time to make new friends, join new groups and start learning Spanish (eek! Sometimes Duolingo just won’t cut it). Nigel is an avid cyclist and rides 80km per day. I am an (almost) avid couch potato, but hoping to change that to encompass all the outdoor activities the beautiful area and fabulous weather will allow. So if there are any walking groups, art groups or Spanish-learning groups you know of or are involved in, please get in touch! Looking forward to hearing from you.

PS or lying on the beach or wine drinking groups. Just saying…

Hi Tony and Karen,

Welcome to Spain, but in particular this lovely area.

We actually live in San Luis de Sabinillas but a lot of our suppliers, customers and friends live in Casares and I am sure you will make friends.

I am also a member of the Royal British Legion Duquesa (www.rblduquesa.org) and we meet for a chat and drink every Tuesday 12-2pm at the Duquesa Golf Club. It might help you in terms of information, local events etc to help too.

Hi Tracy (and Nigel)

Welcome to Casares and hope you are enjoying life here. We bought an apartment in Majestic Hills in January which is not far from you. We love it here and try and come out as often as we can - we will be retired next year so it will be more often then.

We both enjoy keeping fit and walking, as well as relaxing with a glass of something :)

Keep in touch and maybe catch up when we are over

Lynne and Nigel

Hi Tracy,

At Bahia de Casares you might be better off looking towards San Luis de Sabinillas /Manilva.

I belong to Royal British Legion Group (www.rblduquesa.org) who meet every Tuesday 12-2pm at Duquesa Golf Club. Also there is a craft and art group in both Sabby and Manilva.

If you use facebook try the Manilva Coffee Group.

Hi Lynne and Nigel! Thanks for getting back to me and great to hear from you. We went past Majestic Hills today (on the way to Mercadona) and I actually said to (my) Nigel: “Lynne and Nigel live up there”! So there you go. After this month we are moving to Alzacabar (?) and we are renting there for nine months. We wanted the full year, but I guess the owners don’t want to lose out on renting short term for the Summer months. At least it gives us time to find out exactly the right place for us. We went up to Jimena today - absolutely gorgeous. We have considered there as a place to live but I am very much a coastal person and I love being able to look across the sea (I saw dolphins swimming the other evening. What a fabulous place this is). Please let me know when you are next coming out; I’ll put something nice on ice!
Best wishes,

Tracy x

Hi Pauline and Trevor!

Thanks for getting back to me and it’d be great to meet you for real! I walk to Sabinillas every day along the beach (although it half kills me getting back up the hill to the apartment we’re in right now). I hope to get to see you next Tuesday if you’re around. I will have loads of questions to ask you (so please be warned…!)

Best wishes!
