New to Casares

Hi Toni and Karen, we have a holiday house in casares village. We were meant to be there over the Easter holidays but obviously not now. How are things in the village, we have a few elderly neighbors so I’ll hoping the virus hasn’t effected it too badly. You picked a great village to move to. Stay safe, regards jenni and bob

I do hope you don’t mind me messaging you. You sound such friendly people.I hope you are both well and staying safe during this difficult time.

I’ve been looking at the area of casares (sounds lovely) to either rent or buy. I Have just retired in England and would love to find a rental or maybe even look at  a small property to buy. I am trying to do this solo and it does feel a little daunting but I’m determined to make this happen. Obviously not a good time right now however I wanted to make contact with nice friendly people because that’s what life is about isn’t it.

I saw your message on a post (not terribly good at technology.) however I’m learning all the time.

Hi, caz of course I don’t mind you replying. We fell in love with the village and bought a typical village house there 5 yrs ago. We to are hoping to retire there eventually. I just wish I could find out how the village is doing at this dreadful time. News reports from Spain are worrying. If you need any help or info on the area please feel free to ask. Stay safe jenni

Yes, Spain appear to have been hit very hard. I wish them all well and hope to see the back of this pandemic very soon. We will have some celebrating to do 🥳 

How did you first discover Casares? Did you rent at first? How far from the coast.

Hi caz, we live in Northern Ireland. We have been holidaying in Spain for years and stayed in many villages. We happened upon casares when we were staying in gaucin. I just knew it was the village for us. There are great walking routes all around the village and the coast is a 15/20 minute drive away. Hope this helps jenni

Sorry for the delay in responding, Karen's been quite poorly but is now feeling much better.

The village is very quiet but it's very reassuring to see the village is being cleansed a couple of times a day.

Whereabouts in the village is your property?

We absolutely love Casares, our brother also has a property in the camp here in Casares which is how we found this beautiful gem ... truly beautiful place...everyone is so friendly here, we just love it! 

When this is over, it would be great to meet up if you're visiting, in the meantime, stay safe and keep well, all the best!

It was great to see your interaction with Jenni & Bob, we can completely agree with their comments, Casares is a beautiful village, everyone is so friendly here, we bought a house that had been empty sometime and have tried to use local tradespeople for anything we haven't been able to do ourselves at our house, the local people really appreciate this.

Please feel free to get in touch if/when you know you're coming, we would be very pleased to help you in any way we can.

We also know of some local rentals for long and short stays if you get stuck.

You really won't regret "taking the plunge" & we are biased but looked for almost 4 years before buying, Casares is the best of both worlds in this area.
