Mini black fly infestation

We have a ground floor apartment in Calahonda and once every year we experience a mini black fly infestation (not fruit flies), in one or other of our bedrooms. They appear in their thousands for one day only and then die, thick all over the room.
Does anyone else experience this and, if so, how is it to be remedied please?
