HiHi we hare buying furniture from IKEA Malaga and need it dropping off at our apartment in sitio De Calahonda. We are new to the area and wonder if anyone knows a 'man and a van' who could help with this. Many ThanksKevin

The delivery service is good and easy at Ikea in Spain but it has to be arranged in the store unlike the UK where we can do it online. They usually have someone who speaks English to help. The delivery from Ikea may be cheaper than a man and a van. They also hire out self drive vans if that's any help.

Apparently if you are ordering quite a bit of stuff it's cheaper with a family card but I think you need to get a Spanish one.

When  we bought things from Ikea in Spain we looked them up on the UK website and then compared the prices with the Spanish website and some of the items were cheaper in Spain which was good. We made a list before we got there and even looked at the items that were  the same, while we were in the Uk and this saved time when we got to Spain.

Hope this helps

Many thanks for your reply, it was very helpful.  Do you happen to know if IKEA deliver the same day as when we arrive in Malaga we will not have a single item of furniture so us and our son will have nothing to sit or sleep on until the furniture is delivered.

We have emailed IKEA twice but they never reply.

Thanks so much

Jo

I'm really not sure but stores in Spain are often quicker at delivering than the UK. We have bought electrical items like washing machine and they were delivered just after we arrived back from the store. However being such a large busy store I would guess that Ikea may not deliver same day but someone else may tell you.

Just found this and it looks like they do a 24hr delivery service if that helps but check it out.
