Pubic transport buses between Malaga and Marbella

I will be staying in Calahonda for 90 days from December and will be looking to use buses from Calahonda at Camping Los Jarales for both short hops and longer distances between Malaga and Marbella.
Probably using at least 3 times per week on return journeys and looks like the 'M' numbered buses will be mainly used.
Would it be best to get a weekly/monthly payment card or pay the driver for each individual journey?
