Does anyone know if there is a correct procedure to apply for a Spanish one, please? -My mother is 99, has lived here for 45 years and can’t get around well. So she needs her own badge to use in any vehicle she’s transported in.

THANKYOU Jeffers!

However, though my Mother fulfills these criteria, ‘the Social worker’ confirmed it would be a two year wait for this and a panic button to hang around Mama’s neck. When I said ‘right, can we apply for both now, and can u give me a print out of my mother’s registration/application for dating purposes’? She almost exploded with fury and said ‘That’s not how we do things in Spain!’🤷‍♀️

Sounds like you need to make contact with a more helpful person.

Are you able to go into your town hall and ask them for support?

In La Cala we have a foreigners department who speak English and are very helpful

This was at our Town Hall in Aroyo, with someone from the Consulate confirming by email and actually on my telephone to the Receptionist and said ‘Social Worker’, who was trying to deny she had even offered an appointment. I eventually forced the ‘Social Worker’s hand to see us, taking a translator along too. And the above was my experience.

My Mother is an elegant old lady in a wheelchair when out, not some Vulgar Guiri. -(But I guess all Brits will be tarred with the same brush).  Receptionist’s treatment of us at the Health Centre has generally been pretty disgusting too. But the Dr’s and Nurse we’ve seen have been wonderful.

-(It’s important to give credit where it’s due)!

Well only those who behave as such.

The ‘Guiris’ who do behave in an uncouth vulgar manner have given all the other guiris a bad name, and are loathed by indigenous populations universally.

Even some vulgar people are unfortunately confined to using a wheelchair. I've known elegant people to be vulgar in their own way.

You should never judge anyone,  that becomes a vulgar act in itself!!

Our friend has a Blue UK Badge. I dont think this is valid so have downloaded the Spanish form . Is this ok. I have translated it and it seems so. Any info will be appreciated

Thanks

Ken

Ken,  be careful you can be fined for using a English blue badge. We all need to remember England is no longer in the EU so privileges have been removed.
