As A holiday maker in Benalmadena I can stay until 31 March (90 days) then because of Brexit I need to either leave the country or apply for an extension visa.I cannot get a flight back to the UK until mid April because of Covid.

Has the Spain authority made any exception to the 90 day period because of Covid. If not how would I apply for a short extension visa.

Thank you Ray.

My advice would be check with the British Embassy but I genuinely don't think you have any options. Its 90 days max. Visa options for an extended holiday are not really available in any sort of simple way. Not currently anyway. And 31 March is not something that has been sprung on people at the last minute. There has been masses of talk on just about every forum about this date and its deadline implications. No flights won't work either. I just looked at easyJet and found two separate flights with availability AGP-LTN on 30/03 for £20 one way so they are available. You could simply overstay and take your chances but do you really want to take that chance? I wouldn't. Good luck whatever you decide to do!

Thank you Ray.

You can be banned forever from the EU if the 90 day restriction is not adhered to.  Not to say it would happen but you should definitely consider those odds if you do stay.  It would be very easy for them to ban you and that would be that.

Difficult I know.

Thanks Kerri. I've decided to leave before the 31st March.

I have a flight booked for 26th. Hopefully it will not be cancelled as has been the case twice this month already.

Thanks Andy. I've decided not to risk overstaying. I've booked a flight 26th March. Hopefully it will not be cancelled as I've had twice already.

That certainly seems wise and if for some reason its cancelled you have the proof to backup why you were still here.  Such a nuisance all this isn't it.  Well good luck Ray.
