Hi Bill, sorry cannot help with storage, but:
We have a house in Algarrobo, & we love the village. Not many Brits here though. Whereabouts are you renting?

Hi Andrew - re self storage, there seems to be facilities around Malaga so I’m sure I’ll find something in due course.
We’re assuming the LVI visa will be issued during August so we will quit our Glasgow property on 1 September.
The plan is to buy a min 2 bed, 2 bath property in the Algarrobo area. We started to look at Costa but realised we would get more bang for our bawbees in Pueblo as it seemed to offer a combination of a ‘proper’ town but only 4km from the beach.
A six-month rental means we can research neighbourhoods and decide on a purchase at our leisure Most rental properties are in Costa but we’re looking in Pueblo too. We’ve registered with the usual agents so still looking. Any thoughts?
Best wishes

Hi Bill, I found this in Velez Velez Self Store No recommendation, I don't know them
I don't know the rental market, if you've registered with the usual, that's what I'd do
Good idea to rent before buying. Yes we chose Pueblo for similar reasons to yourself There's a couple of restaurants we go to ( Cano Benito & Bar Bellavista) plus plenty in Algarrobo Costa as you say a short drive away. There are small supermarkets & bakeries but we tend to go to Lidl/Mercadona (Costa) & Eroski (El Ingenio)
Be aware the Pueblo is almost wholly Spanish, we're good with that, but if you want to hear English voices, the Costa is more popular.
Ours is a holiday home, back there in October, we have some non-Spanish trips to fit in before then
Good luck in your search

Thanks for the self storage link, Andrew.
As regards the lack of English-speaking voices, that's what would attract us. This is a permanent retirement move for us. We've experienced 'colonised' Costa del Sol and we were pleasantly surprised with Algarrobo-Costa but Pueblo is more our style.
I've sent you my private email in case we can meet in October
